2024 Female Roadrunner of the Year: Kelly Ellis
Though Kelly Ellis has been running for years, it was only recently that she stepped onto the racing scene — and she did so with undeniable fire. With a fierce passion for speed and an unstoppable drive, Kelly quickly established herself as a standout among the PEI Roadrunners.
In 2024 alone, Kelly was the top PEI Roadrunner in 6 of the 7 events she entered. She consistently clocks sub-21-minute 5Ks and boasts equally impressive times in both 5-mile and 10K races. Her momentum didn’t stop there — Kelly was part of the 2024 PEI contingent that took on the Chicago Marathon, finishing with a stellar 3:20:01 Remarkably, this followed her debut marathon at the PEI Marathon in fall 2023, which she tackled again at the Queens Marathon shortly after.
One of Kelly’s Peers says:
Kelly’s energy is infectious — she’s the first one out the door on group runs, a motivating force in the community, and a symbol of perseverance. Incredibly, she has qualified for the Boston Marathon in all three of her marathon debuts, and she'll be taking on the legendary course this April.
Kelly is only getting started — and we can't wait to see where her racing journey takes her next. Congratulations Kelly on being named the Female Roadrunner of the Year.
